The core of the Vizir team are Maja and Denis, both educated food technologists. We used our knowledge and experience in the field of winemaking to our advantage. In 2008, we set up the first Slovenian craft brewery in Slovenia.

The constant development and implementation of knowledge and experience is what we strive for. Denis, who is also the main brewer and innovator, is the Vizir team’s leading light in this area. Developing new products and playing with flavours are his passion. This, in turn, often leads to unusual and different beers. Even beer with spruce tops or ginger, not to mention beer with potatoes and beans.

In addition to creativity in recipes, Denis is often called MacGyver, because there is no challenge that he cannot solve in a unique and innovative way. He also generously shares his knowledge and experience with his fellow brewers. This is also the reason why we are a proud recipient of a special plaque from the Small Brewers Association.

Because brewing is not possible without female energy, Denis’s better half Maja is the head of the company. She makes sure that everything in the brewery runs smoothly and without problems, and that all their client bars and customers are well stocked with beer. A special challenge and passion for her is to pass on her knowledge in the field of cuisine and beer tasting. This led her to upgrade her knowledge at the Institute of Hops and Brewing in Žalec.
